Hey Y’all! Sorry it’s been so long since my last post, I promise I’ll try and do better about keeping y’all updated. So! For the last two weeks I’ve been in Louisiana helping Samaritan’s Purse with hurricane relief. This can look like mudding out a house, or fixing roofs, but for the most part I was just mudding out houses.

Here’s how a normal day would go. Lights on was at 6am! Wow that’s early, we’d work on packing a lunch and getting ready for the day until 6:30am and then we’d have breakfast. At 7am we’d have a short devotion time which led into a short prayer time then we’d leave for work around 8am. From about 9am (our job sites were about 30-40 minutes from the base) until 4-5pm we’d work on taking out walls and pulling nails and screws, ripping out ceilings  and just ministering to the home owners, listening to their storys and sharing the love of Christ with them. Then we’d get back sometime between 4:30-5:30pm (depending on how long you worked) and take showers then went to dinner at 6pm. After dinner we had a share time which basically was just sharing stories of your day and how God was moving at your jobsite. After share time we had the rest of the night free to either take a shower if you hadn’t already or play pool. Quiet hours were at 9pm and lights out was at 10pm. Then you’d wake up and do it all again the next day.

Some things I learned while being there. I don’t have to always do the biggest job, God was really teaching me to be humble and just do the little things whether it’s picking up trash or pulling nails, all things are important to do no matter how small. Always be patient and don’t try to rush through something to get it done, I like to work fast and get things done, but I had to learn that sometimes I just have to slow down and take my time to make sure I’m doing it right.

QUICK UPDATE!!! I’M IN COSTA RICA!!! I was working on this blog on the plane and airports and haven’t been able to post it till now. More to come on that in the future!!
