Hey! Its been a while since my last post, like normal, so here’s a little rundown on what I’ve I’ve doing and what God has been teaching me!

The past two weeks I was working with an organization that helped drug addicts and alcoholics get off of the drugs and alcohol and learn about Jesus at the same time, they are given three meals a day (normally always rice and beans) and it was super cool to get to know the guys there. When we weren’t with the guys we were at their women’s house building a kitchen and cutting kacow( I think that’s how it’s spelled) trees, it was hard work and very draining but it was so amazing to get to see God in everything we did and in the men and women we worked with. Which leads into what God taught me during those two weeks! Something that God really put on my heart was the nothing was not important, let me say that again, nothing is not important, everything matters, even the smallest things that seem meaningless, it matters!

Living conditions for the last two weeks was something I wasn’t expecting, all of the guys spent the last two weeks away from the girls on the squad and did ministry as just the guys and came up with a uniting team name, so we were no longer “Boaz” and “Samsonites” but “Iglesia” (Church), the house we stayed in had no electricity, yes, you heard me, no electricity, it was pitch black almost every night unless we had flashlights,  but it was super cool to experience it because I think it helped me with what God was teaching me, back home I never thought much about electricity, it was just always there, so living without it for two weeks helped me appreciate electricity more.

Now! For what I’m up to this week, starting Friday Dec. 17th, we are in Puerto Viejo until Jan. 6th, working with YWAM, this week we are working on property jobs that need to get done, such as digging an 8ft deep hole for giant cement pipe to go in, and taking apart a roof and putting on a new one, I don’t know know next week is going to look like but I think we are going to be out in the community more! God has really been working on patience in my life, and it’s been so cool to see the fruit from it! I’ve also figured out since being on the race that I love to cook, I used to cook at home with my mom as I grew up and was always watching food network but as I got older I stopped cooking, but being here I’ve learned that I really really enjoy it. (So mom I’m gonna be cooking more when I get back!)

I’ve loved this first part of my race! Its crazy to think that before long I’m going to be in Guatemala! Ah yes, for those of you who don’t know, my route has been switched a few times for our second country because of covid, but even in the midst of that God is still good! We were originally going to Thailand and we got switched to Colombia and now, if God wills it, we’re going to Guatemala! I’m excited to be going back for a second time and experience it in a whole different way!

Love yall!

Pura Vida!

 Until the whole world hears!
